Section 4.4 today! Interest Rates are confusing!
You need to be prepared for a confusing section. If you haven't read this on your own, you will have to. I will not be covering everything in this section. You need to know what the letters are in each formula. Trust me or you will not be pleased with your performance. Here is a link to a site that will help you if you get stuck.
If you haven't been serious about this class, the time is now!!!!!anotherExclamationpoint!! (3/22/14)
Most of my students tend to take pride in "not studying" or they laugh when they admit that they haven't studied. Why is this awesome? Why is your future a joke to you? Time to re-evaluate your priorities. There are only two tests remaining, and the material is MUCH harder.
Here is a page with advice on how to study math.
If you're not doing any of these things right now, then stop whatever you're doing and start. If you are doing these things already and you're still struggling, come see me. I cannot emphasize this enough. Even if you don't like my teaching style in class, I can help you much more effectively one on one. I'm proud that my students (this semester) are all smart enough to pass this class. The problem is that most of you just don't do the amount of work that is required to effectively remember the information you're learning.
Don't assume that because I've let you correct stuff in the past before that you will have the same opportunity next time. The only safe bet is to know the material well enough to pass the test. Everything else is a bad idea. You will have weekends for the rest of your life, focus on college now, or you will regret it later.

WHAT you can expect from PrecalculusThe goal of this class is to prepare you for success in College Calculus. We will accomplish this by teaching you to speak the language of math. After taking this class, you will:
-Have a greater understanding of how to read and write math problems. -The ability to work with quadratics, functions, logarithms, and identities for use in calculus. -Be better at using various technology tools (iPad, Ti-calculators, Wolfram's Software, etc.) that can solve complicated math problems for you. |
